CBSE Classroom at JIRS

CBSE Curriculum (Grades 4-12)

Our Central Board of Secondary Education program follows the national curriculum with enhancements in critical thinking, research skills, and practical applications. The curriculum for grades 9-12 offers three streams: Science (Medical and Non-Medical), Commerce, and Humanities. Each stream includes compulsory subjects along with electives that allow students to tailor their education to their interests and career aspirations.

Special features of our CBSE program include advanced laboratory facilities, research projects from grade 9 onwards, career counseling from certified professionals, and mandatory participation in community service. Our students consistently achieve above-national-average results in board examinations, with particular strength in Mathematics, Sciences, and Computer Applications.

Our International General Certificate of Secondary Education program, affiliated with Cambridge Assessment International Education, provides a global perspective with rigorous academic standards. Students typically take 8-10 subjects at IGCSE level, including English, Mathematics, Sciences, and electives from Creative Arts, Humanities, and Languages.

At A-Levels, students specialize in 3-4 subjects aligned with their university aspirations, with options including Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Business Studies, Psychology, Computer Science, and Art & Design. Our A-Level students have secured placements in top universities worldwide, with particular success in STEM fields.

The Cambridge curriculum emphasizes analytical thinking, independent research, and application of knowledge to real-world scenarios. How to Apply

Begin by submitting an online inquiry form or contacting our admissions office at +91-80-2757-9201. We recommend scheduling a campus tour to experience JIRS firsthand. Virtual tours are also available for international families. During your visit, you'll meet with admissions counselors, tour facilities, and have the opportunity to speak with faculty and current students.

Our admissions team will provide detailed information about curriculum options, fee structure, scholarship opportunities, and boarding facilities. You'll receive a comprehensive information packet including academic calendars, sample timetables, and extracurricular offerings.

Complete the online application form available on our website. Submit required documents including previous two years' academic reports, birth certificate, passport-sized photographs, medical history form, and any standardized test scores (if applicable). A non-refundable application fee of ₹2,500 applies.

International students must additionally submit passport copies, student visa documentation, and proof of English proficiency (if previous education was not in English). Transfer certificates from previous schools are required for all applicants.

All applicants undergo an age-appropriate assessment. For grades 4-8, this includes written tests in English, Mathematics, and General Awareness, followed by an interaction with faculty. For grades 9-12, subject-specific tests are conducted based on chosen stream along with a personal interview.

Assessments are designed to evaluate academic preparedness, critical thinking, and learning potential rather than rote knowledge. Special accommodations are available for students with diagnosed learning differences. International applicants may take proctored online assessments.

Admissions committee reviews each application holistically considering academic records, assessment performance, extracurricular achievements, and personal interview. Decisions are communicated within 10 working days of assessment completion.

Upon acceptance, parents must complete enrollment formalities including payment of first term fees, submission of original documents for verification, and completion of boarding agreements (if applicable). Orientation programs for new students and parents are conducted before the academic year begins.

Scholarships & Financial Aid

JIRS offers merit-based scholarships covering 25% to 100% of tuition fees for exceptional students. Categories include:

Scholarship applications are evaluated separately from admissions. Deadline for 2024-25 scholarship applications is December 15, 2023. Required documents include academic transcripts, recommendation letters, portfolios (for talent scholarships), and financial statements (for need-based aid).
